The Buried Life book

We first posted about The Buried Life this past Fall, when we shared how these four ambitious guys embarked on a journey to check off all of their Bucket List items. They told us, “In the course of The Buried Life, we’ve been dishwashers, bartenders, promoters, oilmen… the list goes on and on. The trick is balance. Like TOMS – it’s One for One. Work hard and do what you deeply want to do. If it’s music – play music. If it’s writing – write. You don’t have to quit your job to start those things.”

Many of you wrote in telling us how inspired you were by their story (it’s one of our favorites too), and now we have an exciting update for you: the guys of The Buried Life just released a book, “What do you want to do before you die?” and they’re signing all copies ordered from http://theburiedlifebook.com!

Act fast – the offer ends tomorrow, Tuesday March 27! Read more

We are here to find meaning

An oldie, but a goodie…

We are here to find meaning. We are here to help other people do the same. Everything else is secondary.

We humans want to believe in our own species. And we want people, companies and products in our lives that make it easier to do so. That is human nature.

Product benefit doesn’t excite us. Belief in humanity and human potential excites us.

Think less about what your product does, and think more about human potential. Read more

Seize the Day and Get a Copy of Start Something That Matters

After more than a year of design and production, it gives me great joy to announce the launch of the Limited Edition Carpe Diem Classics. This style was inspired by my new book, Start Something That Matters, and to celebrate the book’s upcoming release, everyone that orders the Carpe Diem Classics shoes will receive a complimentary copy of my book.

But why Carpe Diem?

Carpe Diem means “seize the day” in Latin. When I was 20 and starting my first business, I began using this phrase at the end of all the letters that I sent out. I wanted to make my customers and business partners happy, and to leave them with a sense of optimism about working with me. To this day, I still try to end every email that I send – whether to co-workers, friends, family or potential vendors – with this signature phrase.

What I love about Carpe Diem is the idea that every day presents us with moments, some big and some small, to live life a little more fully; to express our passions and creativity; to actively run toward our fears; to finally ask out that special person out on a date. These little moments build upon each other, and before you know it, small acts of courage help to define incredible movements and personal growth. So Carpe Diem really is a state of mind, and a reminder of what’s possible.

How will you seize the day?
